A 5-membered CBI team today visited TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee’s home at Santiniketan Building in South Kolkata. The team went there to interrogate Abhisehek’s wife Rijura Narula Banerjee.
Abhisekh Banerjee tweeted that they have full faith on the law of land and shall not be cowed down by such intimidatory acts.
There were women CBI officers in the team who wanted to interrogate Rujira allegedly in connection with funds transfer into her account. Neither Rujira nor Abhisekh were home when the CBI team visited Santiniketan Building on Harish Mukherjee Road. The team served a notice under 160 Cr.Pc on Rujira to question her at home and therefore left their mobile numbers to contact them as soon as Rujira returns home. Currently CBI is investigating the multi-crore coal and cow smuggling scams in which Anup Majhi, Enamul Haque and Binoy Misra, the youth TMC leader are the alleged accused. Haque is incarcerated and Majhi’s property is seized and attached by CBI. Misra is declared as ‘absconder ‘
